Happy New Year

This was taken at Kitano-Tnmengu Shrine in Kitano, Kobe just after midnight on New Year's Day. We make the rounds of shrines in the area and this is one of our favourites that is nearby. It is never overcrowded and always has something interesting for us to take part in.

Under-the-Tracks Izakaya

We have never been to this Izakaya but we often zip past it on our way to buy groceries.

Kobe Underground

Kobe has a small labyrinth of shops underground to guard shoppers from the elements. This fine wall tile is near the city hall.

25th Kobe Luminarie

We go to Kobe Luminarie every year, even if it is just a run through to get some pics. This year was the 25th anniversary of Luminarie. How time flies!

More Motoko

We often go to Motokotown in Motomachi. It is slowly closing down to make way for a new and rejuvenated area. I don't know what will be built there,

Busan Ropeway Temple

As I have often mentioned on the blog... we really like Korea and especially Busan. We have been there a few times and always find something new. This temple is not a famous place but it is near the ropeway and worth a visit.

Higashimon

We often go to small establishments in the Higashimon area of Sannomiya. I have heard that this area has the highest concentration of bars in the world. I can believe that because bars can be very small here.
